30/12/07 OPEN MATCH RIVER DERWENT MATLOCK& MATLOCK BATH
Twenty eight anglers contested the open match on the river Derwent and although the river had risen and was coloured due to rain the day and night before was fishable after many cancelations this year. Most anglers caught on the day but the extra water and then the river dropping during the match reduced the weights ,although N Ellis found some big grayling on peg 44 to win the match comfortably. Second place was a close thing with C Hargreaves on peg 37 at Matlock Bath ,getting it by one ounce (and he missed the net with one fish!) from J Reynolds on peg 59 the sandbank .
