Comment: Derek I have setsome of the records myself(most have been beaten)feel free to have a go yourself pictures would be great for the website we hold competitions regularly on the waters see the match section and any large fish can be weighed seperatlely if you want to claim the club best. The barbel record is suprising a few those of u who fish for them in the Derwent are not suprised and we reckon theres a double in there somewhere !

Matches - You have to be a member to fish the club matches although there are plans to hold open matches in 2011
Cawdor/Sniterton Parking in the quarry near the small gate in the fence , near the lorry turn round opposite the fenced compound and near the entrance to permanite please keep clear all roads and entrances as there are large vehicles in and out of there
Barbel Fishing As these bigger barbel are now being fished for by an increasing number of the members its been found that they are in all our stretches, Darley Bridge and oaker have produced large fish and these are the pegs which large barbel have been caught 1,32 34 35 at Matlock Bath , Artist corner 44 and 46 Matlock Park 56 57 75 Cawdor 76 77 82 90 117 120 122 these have produced the bigger ones above 5lbs but many pegs have fish from half a pound up to these bigger ones Hope that helps a bit

Comment: Membership is available from January each year see the subscription page. For fly fishing the stretchs at Darly Dale and Oaker are a good place to start. Trout can be taken in season see club and natinal rulings. The electronic gate at Cawdor can be opened by members using the code issued with the yearbook.

Comment: Hi new to the Club and just wondered what were the best tactics for Barbel and best bait? Started at Darley Bridge any feedback welcome. Never caught a Barbel so it an ambition of mine :-)
They are being caught on feeder tactics but beware some pegs are snaggy, baits meat and pellets although the smaller ones fall for maggot If your fishing for the larger barbel make sure your tackles up to it as they pull back a bit!
