The last match of this year’s summer series took place at Cawdor ponds with the final positions up for grabs between six or seven anglers. The winner of the final match was Julian Lamb with 20lbs 12 ozs on peg 19. Second was guest angler in the series M Lasowski with 11lbs 9ozs on peg 24 in third was Dave Fowler  10lbs 10ozs on peg 15. After a close run series match secretary Asa Cooper was the winner with 29 points out of a possible 30 .Second was J Lamb with 27 points, third N Ellis 26 points fourth M Bent 25 points and fifth D Fowler 24 points.

The winners of the best weight in a match were D Thorley with 31lbs 15ozs at Cawdor and T Carline with 21lbs 8ozs at Tansley. The series has been the closest for a few years with the final placings all down to the last match.

Eleven anglers took part in the latest evening match at Tansley and found the pond in fine form with the Bream in particular showing throughout the water. The winner Mark Gregory was just short of twenty pounds with the winning weight of 19lbs 12ozs a great weight for a short match on peg 15. Second was Julian Lamb with 13lbs 7ozs on peg 6 and third was Asa Cooper with  10lbs 6ozs on peg 8.
Anyone wishing to fish the evening matches at Tansley are reminded the draw is at 5.30pm fishing until dusk and just turn up at the draw.

The seventh match was started in a thunderstorm and torrential rain and the fifteen anglers taking part found the fish widespread over Tansley pond.The winner was Mick Harrison with 10lbs 8ozs , second was Dave Greatorex with 8lbs 14ozs and third was J Lamb 8lbs 1oz. The series was wrapped up with one match to go by Asa Cooper who finished fourth overall , winning his section to take the series.

The series placings remain very close with any of half a dozen anglers able to finish amongst the money, the golden peg and the top weight at Cawdor still to fish for in the last match.

The latest match of the series at Cawdor ponds saw the series leader A Cooper extend his lead by winning the match with 16lbs 0zs on peg 19 .Second was D ave Fowler with 9lbs 12 ozs from peg 24 on the small pond and in third was Malc Bent with 8lbs 8ozs .

Summer Series Match 5

The fifth match of the series took place at Tansley ponds with 17 anglers taking part, the fish had moved down the pond away from the pegs up the arm which have produced the winning weights on previous matches. Again series leader Asa Cooper made the most of this winning the match with a mixed bag of fish for his weight of 19lbs 15ozs on peg 22. Second was Julian Lamb on the unfavoured peg 2 with 12lbs 4ozs of silver fish and third went to Gordon Hartwell with 11lbs 8ozs on peg 4.

Summer Series Match 3 and 4
The third match of the summer series at Tansley pond was decided by the appearance of some large chub and carp down the arm at Tansley .The winner Tony Carline found the chub three quarters of the way across for his winning weight of 21lbs 8ozs from peg 11 ,second was Malc Bent next door on peg 12 with 12lbs 12ozs and third Mark Holmes on peg 14 with 12lbs 7ozs.

The fourth match of the series took place at Cawdor with the fishing proving difficult , after a silver fish shootout on adjacent pegs Julian Lamb won with 8lbs 7ozs on peg 18 with Asa Cooper second with 7lbs 13ozs on peg 17 in third place was John Bafoot with 6lbs 0oz on peg 20.

Summer Series Match 2
The second match of the series saw 19 anglers competing at Cawdor with the fish and weights spread around the ponds. The winning weight went to Steph Umney who was guesting in the series with 12lbs 8ozs from Peg 5. In second place was Dave Fowler with 9lbs 11ozs on peg 1 and third went to Mick Harrison on last weeks winning peg 20.The early leader in the series is Asa Cooper who has maximum points after two sections wins.

Summer Series Match 1
The first of this years summer series took place on Cawdor Ponds in good weather after the recent rain. The sections this year have changed ,with one section now solely on the small pond.The winning weight and current match record for Cawdor went to Dave Thornley who caught mainly carp on peg 20 for his winning weight of 31lbs 15ozs.In second was Asa Cooper who had a silver fish net of 10lbs 2ozs from peg 16 in third was John Barfoot with a net of 9lbs 8ozs from peg 11.
Points and weight tables will be put on website.

  River Derwent Matlock to Matlock Bath

The last of the seasons river matches was fished by 19 anglers in two sections of the river ,one at Matlock Bath and the other from artist corner through the park.Weights in both sections were even with Malc Bent winning the Matlock Section with 6lbs 15ozs on Peg 48 and Mick Harrison on Peg 36 winning the Matlock Bath section with 6lbs 10zs.

River Derwent Matlock

This mid week match was fished on the final week of the river season by 24 anglers and saw the familiar pegs turning up the top weights with again Peg 59 producing the winning weight of 7lbs 4ozs this time for Dave Thornley. In equal second was R Bonson and M Stafford with 6lbs from Pegs 65 and 75.

River Derwent Matlock

With the weather at last relenting and turning into early spring the match was fished in some parts in bright sunshine with the river level normal. The grayling seemed to be shoaled up in certain areas ready for spawning and Mark Gregory found the on Peg 59 for his winning weight of 8lbs 10ozs. In second was Rick Cantrill with a grayling net of 6lbs 11ozs from Peg 70, in joint third was J Spencer Peg 88 and B Ball Peg 65 both with 5lbs 14ozs

The heavy snowfall on the morning of this match didnt stop the sixteen anglers from fishing the Derwent in Matlock.The match was pegged from artist corner to the park and again Peg 71a produced the winning weight for Mark Gregory with 8lbs 2ozs. In second was Glyn Taylor with 6lbs 8ozs from Peg 57 two ounces in front of third placed Asa Cooper who had 6lbs 6ozs from Peg 56.

 Cawdor Ponds
This match was fished by fifteen anglers who found the going very hard with no-one catching a fish until 2 hours or more into the match. The result shows how hard the fishing was with the winner Malc Bent catching a dozen small roach for a weight of 1lb 2ozs from Peg 23 on the small pond. Second was Craig Cantrill who caught small perch in margins late in the match for 13ozs and third was D Fowler with 3ozs ! A bit early in the year for the ponds at Cawdor which the weights proved.

River Derwent
Twenty anglers took part in the latest club match and found the river in fine form with weights close behind the runaway winner John Barfoot ,who had eleven fish, nine grayling and two chub for his winning weight of 9lbs 13ozs from peg 71a in the park. Second and breaking his winning run, was match secretary A Cooper with 6lbs 15ozs from peg 77 above the bridge. Third place went to M Harrison who finished with 6lbs 14ozs on peg 60 .The match also threw up the club best for a grayling with a 1lb 10oz fish for J Mills/

Tansley Pond

The latest club match was switched to the pond at Tansley due to the river derwent being unfit to fish. Twelve anglers took part and found the fishing patchy around the pond. The match was won by Asa Cooper who had an all silver fish net for 9lbs 6 ozs from peg 20 second by three ounces was D Fowler who had two carp and a perch for 9lbs 3 ozs from peg 13 and third was K Wood with a silver fish net of 4lbs 9ozs from peg 24.

The latest match was changed from Cawdor ponds due to it being iced over and with the continued cold spell a reduced attendance of ten anglers fished the river.The result howed the river in fine form despite the freezing conditions with weights being made up of grayling with the odd small chub also being caught.The winner was A Cooper who had grayling and a couple of small chub for his winning weight of 9lbs 12ozs from Peg 71a closely followed in second by R Bonson with 9lbs 8ozs from Peg 100 for second.In third place was G Taylor with 8lbs 2ozs from Peg 82.

River Derwent Matlock to Matlock Bath
The first match of 2010 saw eighteen hardy(or mad) anglers brave the snow covered and freezing banks of the River Derwent . Despite the freezing conditions the end result was close with just 12 ounces seperating the top five.  Nigel Ellis started the years match calender as he finished last years winning the match with 5lbs 10ozs from Peg 90. In second was A Cooper with 5lbs 6ozs from Peg 77 and third was M Holmes 5lbs 3ozs from Peg 89.The full result was .
