These fish are just over a year old and ranged from three to eight inches long. These were stocked at Cawdor/Snitterton and are again part of the clubs ongoing stocking policy. This is the third year we have obtained fish from the EA ,as well as the grant for the work on the ponds at Cawdor, and is proving to be invaluable in the improvement of our fishing and fish stocks. Many thanks go to Alex Lumsden East Midlands fishery officer and his team for their continued assistance.

ANGLING TIMES/VDE SUPERCUP FINAL 2009
The team from Matlock A C competed in this years final after a long qualifying campaign , made worse by the closing of the semi final venue Heronbrook the day before the semi. The final was fished on the JCB lakes and after several practice sessions the team of A Cooper, L Coupe, D Newman, D Fowler J Thornley and D Fantom were selected. On the day the draw was average and the final result was a 10th place out of the 21 teams , but the highlight for the team was Daz Newman who won the match with a weight of 48lbs of Carp and one skimmer bream. Again a big well done to the team who put a lot of time and expense in travelling to fish and practice for this competition .

Work is almost complete at the ponds at Cawdor, this has involved the lowering of water levels at the ponds to allow new pathways to be constructed between and alongside the ponds. All the pegs have had improvements made, including four pegs for wheelchair anglers with stops.Pipes have been laid between the two ponds to allow the control of levels and work on the outlet to allow the raising and lowering of the levels. The areas surrounding the pegs are being soiled and seeded and anglers are asked to keep off these areas and use the platforms and pathways when fishing . The lanes and pathways are also going to be improved so hopefully this year members will benefit from the work on the surroundings of the ponds .
Members are reminded that Cawdor ponds are closed for fishing during March
