Matlock Angling Club Club Waters

Matlock Angling Club controls a number of stillwaters, various beats of the River Derwent and a length of the Erewash Canal offering a diverse range of angling opportunities for anglers of all ages and abilities. Directions are available in the Club Membership Book. No unauthorised access is permitted on private land.

Erewash Canal


Fishing on this stretch of canal is shared with Belper Angling Club, however, there is plenty of pegs for everyone! A mixed fishery the exact species present is currently unknown but expect pike into double figures, quality perch, silvers and some carp. [Read more]

River Derwent


Matlock Angling Club control seven stretches of the River Derwent, offering consistent grayling and trout fishing with plenty of accessible swims for the fly fisherman.
